What DIORREN® is
Diorren® S&H contains diosmectite and oral rehydration salts (ORS).
Common diarrhoea, associated with intestinal disorders such as gastroenteritis, leads to an increased risk of dehydration: loss of water and electrolytes, i.e., mineral salts such as sodium, citrate, chloride, potassium and glucose, which are essential for the body to work properly.
Oral rehydration, through the administration of mineral salts dissolved in water, is therefore the mainstay of treatment for intestinal infections with diarrhoea.
Adequate administration of electrolytes and fluid helps prevent dehydration but does not shorten the duration of diarrhoea; therefore, it is advisable to combine it with a substance that increases stool consistency, slows its expulsion and helps maintain the integrity of the intestinal barrier without modifying peristalsis in the intestine.
Diosmectite is a natural silicate with a high capacity for absorbing and retaining water, which coats the intestinal mucosa without altering intestinal motility and helps space out bowel movements. Various studies have shown that diosmectite rapidly reduces the duration of diarrhoea and intestinal discomfort.
Supplying rehydration salts (ORS) helps restore lost fluids and minerals during an episode of acute diarrhoea, thus helping prevent dehydration.
DIORREN® S&H contains the amount of oral rehydration salts (sodium, potassium, chloride, citrate and anhydrous glucose) recommended by the WHO and UNICEF. It is a low-concentration (hypoosmolar) formula, with lower amounts of sodium and glucose, which reduces the risk of vomiting and also the number of bowel movements compared to higher-concentration (isosmolar or hyperosmolar) rehydration salts (ORS).

Method of administration
Disperse the contents in half a glass of water (250 ml) at room temperature and drink immediately.
It is recommended to take 3 sachets a day (one sachet half an hour before each main meal).
It is not necessary to take all 9 sachets that come in the pack: as soon as the diarrhoea stops, you can stop taking the product.
If the diarrhoea persists for more than 3 days, it is recommendable to see a doctor for further diagnosis and treatment.
Warnings

Do not exceed the expressly recommended daily dose.
