What Seidibion^® Prime is

Seidibion® Prime is a specific nutritional complex that helps meet the nutritional needs of pregnant women, especially during the last 5 months of pregnancy and also while breast-feeding.

Seidibion® Prime is a balanced food supplement with a high content of DHA, vitamins B and D, minerals and probiotics.

There is extensive evidence regarding the benefits associated with the combined intake of these substances and micronutrients during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Recent publications suggest that a daily intake of between 500 mg and 1 g of omega-3 (DHA) from 12 weeks of pregnancy reduces the risk of preterm birth and low birth weight.

DHA also provides energy to the pregnant woman and contributes to the infant’s cognitive and visual development.

Seidibion® Prime includes a reduced and methylated folate (Quatrefolic®) rather than conventional folic acid. This form of folate ensures its absorption, as many women’s bodies are not able to absorb the conventional form (folic acid).

Together with vitamin B12, Quatrefolic® helps prevent possible deficiencies in the nervous system of the embryo (neural tube).

Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and use of calcium. Daily vitamin D requirements are much higher in pregnant women and breast-feeding mothers. The concentration of vitamin D in breast milk will depend on the mother’s vitamin D levels, so supplementation during pregnancy is recommended.

New evidence suggests that the administration of supplements with enhanced vitamin D concentrations (1,000 IU/day) during pregnancy may reduce the risk of gestational diabetes. Seidibion® Prime provides minerals such as iron, which helps prevent anaemia, and iodine, which is necessary for thyroid hormone synthesis and foetal development.

The formula also includes a specific combination of lactobacilli (L. rhamnosus and L. acidophilus), which help balance the vaginal flora of pregnant women and prevent vaginitis or reduce its symptoms.

Method of administration

Take one soft capsule (transparent) and one hard capsule (white) per day with plenty of fluid (150 ml). Before taking this supplement, it is recommendable to consult a gynaecologist or pharmacist.
