Seidurol® is a food supplement that aids proper functioning of the urinary system, mainly by acidifying the urinary environment and creating adverse conditions for bacterial growth and proliferation.
The bacteria that cause urinary tract infections require an alkaline environment (pH 7 or 8) to proliferate. In fact, most Gram-negative bacteria release alkalising substances (nitrites) to create a favourable environment for proliferation. The acidification of the urinary environment reduces the bacteria’s proliferative capacity (bacteriostatic effect of acidic pH), while also breaking down the cell wall of the pathogen (bactericidal effect of acidic urinary pH).
800 mg of L-Methionine/day releases 4.8 mmol of H+ in urine, an acidifying quantity that is capable of normalising the urinary pH and transforming nitrites into nitric oxide, which acts as an inhibitor of bacterial growth.
The formula of Seidurol® also contains Hibiscus sabdariffa extract, a phytocomplex containing phenolic compounds such as flavonoids and cyanidin, as well as proanthocyanidins, which recent studies have shown to inhibit the growth of C. albicans and E. coli, thus helping prevent recurrent urinary tract infections.
The synergistic action of the compounds in Seidurol® is complemented by Boswellia serrata extract, an ingredient that is capable of inhibiting certain mediators of inflammation, specifically 5-lipoxygenase, with the consequent reduction in the inflammatory response mediated by leukotrienes. Seidurol® also contains 126 mg of A-type PACs (cranberry proanthocyanidins), which prevent E. coli and other bacteria in the urine from adhering to the walls of the urinary tract, thus preventing residual colonies from remaining in the bladder even after antibiotic treatment.
Seidurol® is an innovative formula that helps create adverse conditions for bacterial growth and proliferation, recommended for the correct maintenance of the urinary system.
